Buying Guide: Key Purchase Considerations
- Theme compatibility: Ensure the topper style—glitter, handmade, or colorful feather—aligns with your event’s overall aesthetic (boho, tribal, pastel, etc.).
- Materials and safety: Check that edible toppers are food-safe and that non-edible toppers are made from materials suitable for cake surfaces and party décor.
- Size and proportion: Measure your cake diameter and height to pick toppers that fit without crowding frosting or drifting off the cake edge.
- Durability and reuse: Reusable toppers save cost for multiple events; consider materials like resin or sturdy cardstock for longevity.
- Ease of use: Look for toppers with simple insertion into frosting or a stable base for easy assembly and reliable placement.
- Color and finish: Glittery, matte, or natural tones affect how toppers pair with your cake colors and table decor.
- Package contents: Some sets include additional items (wrappers, glue, multiple patterns); verify what you’ll actually use for your event.
- Storage after event: Consider how to store toppers to prevent damage if you plan to reuse them or keep them as keepsakes.
- Budget and quantity: Match the number of toppers to guest count and dessert variety; avoid over-decorating while ensuring visual impact.
- Delivery timing: Ensure you have the toppers well before the event date to test fit and placement on your cake.
